• Early Mortality (Week 1): Loss of DOC cost (~₹40).
• Late Mortality (Week 5-6): Loss of DOC cost + 3.5kg of feed (₹180 total).

Late-stage mortality is catastrophic because you have already invested the majority of the feed cost into the bird. Regular monitoring of daily mortality trends helps in early disease detection.
