Livability %
Livability is the inverse of mortality. It represents the percentage of birds that successfully reach harvest.
Livability % = (Total Birds Harvested / Total Birds Placed) x 100
Breed Benchmarks
| Breed | Typical Livability | Good Performance |
|---|---|---|
| Vencobb 400 | 94.5% | 96.2% |
| Ross 308 | 94.0% | 95.8% |
| Hybro PN | 95.0% | 96.5% |

High livability depends on strict biosecurity, proper ventilation, and timely vaccination. Environment Controlled (EC) sheds typically offer 2-3% better livability during peak summer months.
