Broiler Feed Phases
Broiler growth is divided into phases, each requiring different protein and energy levels. Using the right feed at the right time is crucial for FCR.
Typical Feed Plan (Indian Standards)
| Phase | Days | Form | Protein % | Cost/kg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-Starter | 1 - 10 | Mash/Crumble | 22% | ₹48 |
| Starter | 11 - 20 | Crumble | 21% | ₹45 |
| Grower | 21 - 32 | Pellet | 19% | ₹41 |
| Finisher | 33 - Harvest | Pellet | 18% | ₹39 |
Phase Quantities
Birds eat very little in the first week (~165g total) but consume massive amounts in the final week (~1.4kg in 7 days). Therefore, the quality of Grower/Finisher feed has the biggest impact on your total bill.
