Overview & Core Concepts
Poultry integration is concentrated in specific regional production clusters across India, supported by networks of corporate feed mills, hatcheries, and processing centers. Because integrators need to move chicks, feed, and birds efficiently, their contract-growing operations are generally concentrated within the areas their local supply and service network can support. A farmer's location and local climate determine which integrators operate in the area and what housing technology is required.
Why This Matters
A farmer located outside an integrator's active logistical radius will not be serviced . Local weather extremes (e.g., in North India) dictate the necessity of specific housing standards to maintain biological performance .
